We believe in emphasizing the camper's welfare and skill development. Brookwood Camps has a large and mature staff that has a genuine interest in young people. Brookwood Camps has been family owned by the Fiedler's since 1986.

Scott Fiedler:
Scott arrived as a staff member at Brookwood Camps in 1986- filled with enthusiasm and experience after spending most of his life as a camper and professional coach. Camping and sports are in his blood!

Scott is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he received a BA in economics and captained the top-notch varsity basketball team. His teams won over 80 games in his basketball career, and he was the recipient of the Pierce Memorial Award, an achievement award presented to the athlete who gives 110% effort and commitment to team play. After college, Scott became the youngest college head coach in the country at Suffolk CC and then continued his career coaching Division One Basketball.

Bringing many of the concepts and lessons from his vast team sports experience to Brookwood, Scott is a key component to our success. Scott keeps a watchful eye on the campers and loves spending time mentoring and coaching them all. He is also the founder of the Prime Time Sports Camps- offering week-long camp programs focusing on a specific sport.

Scott’s brother Jay, who serves as a consultant to the camp, is currently a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Ken Fiedler:
Ken and his wife Donna (see below) purchased Brookwood Camps in 1986 after having co-directed Camp Lenni-Len-a-Pe since 1973. Through Ken’s vision combined with the talents and gifts of his son Scott, Brookwood has seen a tremendous facility expansion and continued program development. Mindful of the needs of each individual camper, Ken has strived to keep Brookwood Camps the premier camp facility in the country.

A true love of sports led Ken to a career in physical education. He has a BS in physical education from SUNY Cortland and a MS in physical education and administration from Ithaca College. Ken became a legend in the New York City sporting world by guiding his basketball teams to the great achievement of winning two city championships. He is also the recipient of the National Pro-Am city leagues achievement award and is a former recipient of the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame “Good Guy Award.”

Donna Fiedler:
After 13 years of directing Camp Lenni-Len-a-Pe, Donna and her husband Ken were ready to purchase their own camp in 1986- and chose Brookwood Camps as the place to make their mark. Donna began camping at the age of five and has been a camper ever since- eventually leading her to a career as Camp Director. She has a BA from Hofstra University and is a retired art teacher from the NYC public school system. Donna has been responsible for developing a top-notch arts program at Brookwood and is also involved in the day-to-day operation of the camp.
