Leo Mazzone spent over 40 years in professional baseball and is widely considered to be the best pitching coach in Major League Baseball over the past half century. During his time with the Atlanta Braves, his pitching staff was one of the best rotations to ever play the game. His staff collectively won 6 Cy Young Awards and led the team to 14 straight postseason appearances. The two pitchers inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2014 (Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine) spent the majority of their careers under Mazzone’s tutelage. Remarkably, Mazzone’s pitchers sustained very few injuries as a result of his teaching and training methods. Campers at The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps now have the rare opportunity to learn from one of baseball’s true coaching legends.
