Camp in New York’s Sullivan County, Directed By Former NFL Quarterback Jay Fiedler and the Fiedler Family

For the summer of 2014, The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps will be offering flexible two-to-seven week scheduling options at its world-class New York sports sleepaway camp.  The camp provides committed young athletes, multi-level youth sports camps in a traditional summer overnight youth camp environment, located in Sullivan County, New York.  The camp is owned by the Fiedler family for over 30 years and is directed by Former NFL Quarterback Jay Fiedler and former college basketball coach, Scott Fiedler.

“We recognized the importance of having a very flexible sleepaway camp schedule which is usually not an option and mostly unheard of for New York youth sports camps so we are quite excited to better serve families who have this need,” said Jay Fiedler. “We are thrilled that summer is just around the corner and that we are filling up quickly with young athletes from around the country and the world – they are coming from England, Spain, France, Italy and Israel.”

The professional sports instruction is unlike any other in New York State and offers multi-level training similar to other nationally recognized youth sports summer camps. Training options include football camp, baseball camp, basketball camp, soccer camp, softball camp, lacrosse camp, tennis camp and cheerleading camp, as well as a sports broadcasting camp.  All sports programs will be conducted by trainers, athletes and coaches who have reached significant achievement in their respective sports careers.  These instructors are also carefully selected for their ability to work in the environment of youth sports camps — from learning the fundamentals to taking the elite player to the next level.

“Brookwood Camps’ trainers have helped young athletes succeed at all levels, with many going on to play at the college level — several have gone on to play professional sports and many have returned to coach campers at Brookwood,” said Fiedler.

The convenient New York sleepaway camp location is surrounded by a beautiful lakeside on a pristine 160 acres, where New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania meet in Sullivan County, NY.  The Sports Academy at Brookwood Camps have all the traditional youth sleep away camp amenities including swimming in a lake, horseback riding, gaga, color war and evening activities around the campfire.

“Very importantly, we recognize that our campers are kids, so we combine the excellence of our youth sports camps, with a total sleep away camp experience,” said Scott Fiedler, the camp Co-Director and former college basketball coach. “Also, Brookwood Camps are unlike sports management company-owned athlete ‘grooming”’ camps or resorts re-purposed into new sports-related camps, Brookwood has a 75 year legacy as a traditional sleepaway camp and has proven expertise in the training of youth athletes.”
